Trout Lake Elopement in Telluride

Trout Lake Elopement in Telluride

This is one blog you don’t want to miss – Julie & Sebastien’s beautiful Trout Lake elopement in Telluride. Usually Colorado would be showing off peak fall colors on this late September date, but the 2023 fall colors were late. The aspen trees were just starting to turn their signature yellow, but don’t think for a moment that these two were bummed at all. Nothing but grins all day, Julie and Sebastien celebrated their elopement with their kids, immediate family members and green leaves.

Telluride Elopement Locations

Telluride is a wonderful place to elope in the summer and fall. So long as you don’t mind driving quite a ways from the nearest airport, you will be rewarded with epic views in every direction. Consider a trout lake elopement in Telluride if you love a good mountain lake but don’t need to hike to get there. Of course, if you do want to hike, nearby Hope Lake is stunning. Canoe elopement in Colorado

On our very first call, Julie mentioned that she wasn’t totally sure she wanted to elope. She had planned to get married at a beautiful church that had a pond and a canoe for newlyweds to use. They were really looking forward to that! I quickly eased her mind that we could incorporate a canoe in her Trout Lake elopement plan. After the call ended, I went about securing a canoe rental, only to find that there are no longer any available in all of western Colorado. A good samaritan answered my social media plea, and thanks to Patricia in Montrose (and my husband for delivering it to us) – we made their canoe dreams come true!

Couple with a height difference

When I met Sebastien in person, I had to bend from the waist to meet his eye. And I’m a tall woman! If you’ve ever wondered what a couple with a height difference looks like, Julie and Sebastien are here to clear that up for you. Sebastien is a whopping 6’10” and Julie is 5’1″ of statuesque babe. But it was never difficult to photograph them- mostly because they kept each other laughing all day. If you have a height difference, don’t worry! Your photos will be just as sweet as these two.

Elopement with Kids

Julie’s daughters and nieces and nephews were a central part of this couple’s story. The big family love they have for one another is plainly obvious. J&S simply couldn’t imagine getting married without them. All the girls got the princess treatment with gorgeous hair and makeup. Just getting ready together created a memorable day I know the littles will never forget. Gift bags with their names on them, and cider instead of champagne were just some of the ways they included their family and made everyone feel special and valued.

About your Trout Lake elopement photographer

First of all please know that I don’t have it together. If you do have it together, please let me know how you do it.

Worldwide elopement photographer Lucy Schultz is photographed here on assignment in New Zealand. She is wearing a backpack with 2 cameras, black clothes, and red shoes.

I’m nomadic. I live everywhere and nowhere in the west. California, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico are my playground. Unless I have to fly to your location, travel fees are covered. I love being able to pass this savings on to my clients.

I’m not a through hiker nor am I super interested in bagging summits. I love to explore and take my time. National Parks are awesome – and so are the lands outside of them. Let’s explore the next place together!
