Sprague Lake Engagement Photos

Kortni & Chris’s Winter Sprague Lake Engagement Photos

Another beautiful morning in our beautiful state! Kortni & Chris popped in to Colorado for a quick visit and to capture their Sprague Lake engagement photos in the rocky mountains. Fresh snow blanketed the ground and this cute little bridge where we started our session. At this high elevation, weather conditions in the winter can be so unpredictable, but we got really lucky with this clear, perfectly still day that highlighted the majesty of Hallet peak and the surrounding snowcaps. It was a MUST to capture a lot of mountains in the backgrounds of their pictures, and I’d say we delivered – BIG TIME! Kortni wore a stunning floor length pink rose detailed dress and red coat, adding a bright pop of color that I loved! Chris complemented her in a neutral tone (though he probably would have looked great in that dress too 😉

Engagement Location in Rocky Mountain National Park

A Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement session is always so beautiful, and having Sprague Lake to ourselves was an extra treat as these sweethearts giggled and stomped through the thick snow. As we rounded the lake, the morning sun twinkled across the snow, making it look like we were walking in a sparkling sea of diamonds. It was easy to photograph Kortni & Chris, who thought they’d be awkward but it was just the opposite! They were up for anything I asked, and you can sense the tenderness and affection they have for each other in their photos. We had so much fun together, and they very generously humored me by laughing at my bad jokes and other strange sound effects that were turned up to the max. I was thrilled that they chose me to capture their Colorado engagement photos last month, and then they brought me to meet Goose, their unpredictably goofy silver lab for some last photos. Congratulations you two, enjoy this special time in your life as you plan your wedding- it comes just once in a lifetime!
