Samuel P Taylor Elopement

Alyssa & Matthew’s Samuel P Taylor elopement was a beautiful, simple, and delightfully personal microwedding in the middle of October. At every turn, they planned things their way. That meant saying their vows privately on the beach at sunrise. Walking their dog. Getting married in a thoughtful ceremony under the trees. The best Italian food in the north San Francisco area. And sunset portraits with bonus night photos over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Matt’s family has visited Samuel P Taylor state park throughout his life. I love when couples weave their personal stories into the ways that they elope. Neither Alyssa or Matt wanted big fanfare or a wedding party, so the Redwood Grove site in the state park was a perfect fit for them. They reserved the picnic area and got married in a semi circle of redwood trees. It was easy for their guests to access and close to the city of San Francisco. Afterwards, the newlyweds had a private picnic along a hiking trail for more portraits among the lush redwoods.

Their elopement story

Alyssa and Matt found each other after each facing hardship in their previous relationships. And these two just light each other up! Rarely do I meet another couple who more closely embody “meant to be.” Alyssa is a gift-giving machine, and her kindness and ready laugh typify who she is and how she loves. Matt got her good with a gift of a print of the night sky in their wedding location so they can keep their view forever. Below the print he had chosen the words, “If I had a star for every time you crossed my mind, I’d hold the universe in my hands.” Omg, why am I tearing up again?? It was only fitting that we get some star photos at the end of the night. We were lucky to have the ATLAS comet join us too!
