New Zealand – March 10th

There is such color here.. green hills, blue sky, turquoise water, brown sand, black rocks, yellow flowers, white butterflies.
I drove over river bridges that had no sides or guard rails, and road signs foretold inescapable doom: “Road Narrows”, “!”, “Dangerous curves ahead” and finally, “Road no longer maintained beyond this point”. Really? Finally, I got to hiking the Kauerunga Kauri Valley trail- 3 hours hike up stairs to the Pinnacles hut, where I stayed overnight, and a further 608 stairs to the top of the Pinnacles. Absolutely amazing views, the beauty of it all is mind blowing. The Pinnacles are pointy rocks at the top of a pointy mountain in a pointy mountain range called the Coromandels, on the Coromandel peninsula.
