Erin & Alex’s Black Canyon Inn Elopement

It’s official – I am obsessed with Erin & Alex’s Black Canyon Inn elopement! And I am obsessed with elopements! Moreover, I’m obsessed with this couple and their mutual weirdness that they shared with me.  Their intimate elopement in Estes Park, CO was equal parts tearful and nutty. Their 2 officiants & best friends put on huge dinosaur costumes throughout the day that had us all busting with laughter the entire time. My favorite moment was when we pranked Alex by sending a dinosaur to the first look instead of his bride. You HAVE to see his reaction! And the sweet vows Erin & Alex exchanged had everyone tearing up in the mountains on this beautiful early September day. 

Their Style

Erin wore her naturally curly hair down, because as she put it, she wanted to look like herself! I loved the unique scalloped edge of her elopement gown. Alex customized his look with a bold blue suit, printed tie, and puzzle piece cufflinks that mirrored their matching puzzle piece tattoos. And in their case, I’m going to allow White Claw to be considered an accessory.

After the Ceremony

Joy brimming, we headed to another of my favorite photo locations in Estes Park for some portraits. This spot has those big mountain views into Rocky Mountain National Park and we loved creating some colorful and epic photos there. We even serenaded them with an a-capella version of ‘Pony’, yes, the song by Genuwine – for their impromptu first dance in the castle ruins.
