All Day California Elopement

Christy and Matt’s all day California elopement was an adventure from start to finish. Starting with their sunrise first look at one of the most beautiful lakes in all of California. The day somehow got better and better as the loved-up pair married surrounded by love, and then adventured everywhere they possibly could. The result was a whopperload of epic elopement photos! Mammoth Lakes All Day Elopement

This pair already has a strong connection to visiting and adventuring in Mammoth Lakes. We made a point to visit the woodsy boardwalk around the far side of the lake where they had their first look at dawn. Despite wearing their least practical outfits, they smoked me on the hike there! I don’t mind – that just means I have more time to do my thing.

Unique All Day Elopement Ideas

Don’t let their model good looks fool you- these two are up for a good time! I guided the newlyweds to an offroad location that was blazing hot. We took shelter under the cave-like stone column formations. That’s where they decided to share their private vows with each other. What a unique spot! My heart was exploding with joy for them. We joined up again with their families for a delicious French dinner followed by a raucous night of Bowling at the Rock’n’Bowl Mammoth. Watching their parents – some of whom were meeting for the first time- playfully compete and cheer each other on was one of the most heartwarming and precious sights.

Mono Lake Elopement Photos

After the ceremony and a quick lunch in town – because nobody is allowed to be hangry at my elopements – we headed to Mono Lake. Mono lake is one of the oldest and most geologically fascinating lakes in the entire USA. It’s 2.5 times saltier than the ocean. Hats off to Christy for braving ALL the elements on her elopement day. She navigated stepping around snagging branches, blowing dust, flies AND cow patties all day long. That’s what an adventure bride does- and look how it paid off!

We had simply too many incredible places to visit, things to taste and experience, and epic photos to take for just 1 day. After they booked with me, they upgraded to include another half day with me the next night. This allowed them to party with their families AND get those dreamy sunset photos they were hoping for. They had their first dance soaked in golden sunset glow. The milky way was showing off, so we included some star photos and campfire snuggles as it got dark. We also went down to the Mammoth Lakes hot springs, but the resulting photos are Too Sexy, and are therefore not for the blog. True Story.
