Adirondack Wildlife Refuge Fall 2014

At the end of October I returned to the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge for the photo opportunities on the Wolf Walk. The refuge is a non profit rehab and education center with three captive-raised wolves and other rehabilitated wildlife of the northeast. The wolves are taken on daily walks with steel leashes (I have removed the leashes in post processing) and for a donation, you can walk with them too! The AWR is fueled by awesome, hardworking people and donations. You can make a donation to the center here.

Cree, the white wolf, has a gorgeous stare.

Timing is everything.

Kiska is six months old and full of curiosity.

Photographing wolf pack behavior is a treat. Check out how wide Cree can open his jaws!

Other critters at the refuge, and their view of the Ausable valley.
